The art of being a middle aged white guy. When to shut up, when to speak. About now I think that simply speaking in an open, tolerant and compassionate way is a form of resistance. Not a big enough form of resistance, but it's something. Heart on sleeve, on not remaining compliant, that's a good start.
So this is where I will speak. It will mostly be to the converted and it will be small stuff, but that's the benefit of the internet right, we can all create a platform, even if it is three-feet wide and subject to the threat of rising water levels.
I started making websites back in 1997 and continue to earn my main income from it.
I now work in London and work as a strategist for Macmillan Cancer Support.
How I really see myself.
I have written a number of plays, radio plays, films and even an (unpublished) novel or two. On top of that I write a lot about cycling and random stuff.
I have a post-grad dip in Writing for the media from Swinburne in Melbourne and studied poetry under Bill Manhire at Victoria University.
A NZ Drama school grad, I was an actor round town until my late 20s .
